Painting is a messy business

I started on the second backdrop for Whistle Down the Wind today. The backdrop will have the same basic scene as the first – a field of corn – but now instead of telephone pylons, the scene will be set with an overpass and a large road sign. This backdrop is going to be hung further forward on the stage, so I have painted the corn field lower on the cloth – making sure the perspective is right. Now time to wash all the paint off my feet (with a canvas this size, there is now way not to get covered in paint, which is half the fun!)
